How we work / A shared goal
Purpose first.
Then the work.
Every engagement connects a practical improvement to the organisation’s wider purpose. We agree what useful progress looks like, do the work and assess the value together.
Agree the goal.
Start with what your organisation wants to achieve. Establish the current position, the people responsible and a few useful measures of success.
Design the work.
Examine the workflow, relevant knowledge and existing AI. Decide what additional capabilities would help, with clear boundaries for data, actions and review.
Put it into practice.
Build and test with the people doing the work. Help individual employees frame questions, assess results and shape daily workflows that give them more room to contribute to the organisation’s purpose.
Retain and improve.
Leave useful knowledge, working methods and clear ownership. Agree how your team will operate the result and where continuing support adds value.
The conditions for useful AI
Make control
practical.
Organisational data sovereignty
Establish how information is stored, processed and used; who and which agents can access it; and what may be shared, retained or deleted. Cover original sources, derived knowledge and activity records.
Understand contractual and technical limits. Keep portability and provider changes in view. Storage location is one part of practical control.
Safety monitoring in agent use
Define the task, permissions and authority to act. Make actual accesses and actions reviewable, identify material departures, and establish who can investigate, pause activity or revoke access.
Test the intervention path. Make gaps in monitoring visible. Give the monitoring records themselves appropriate access and retention rules.
Human direction
People set purpose, choose questions, direct and redirect inquiry, challenge assumptions and judge significance. Agents can bring unexpected developments forward for consideration.
Calibrate intervention to consequence and uncertainty. The aim is to concentrate attention on meaningful decisions and exceptions.
Knowledge your organisation can use
Keep the basis.
Keep the choice.
Useful knowledge starts with good sources. We help you gather data from inside and outside your organisation, assess its relevance, accuracy and currency, and address gaps. Organise it so people can understand and use it, and AI systems can work with it.
Retain the sources, decisions, reasons, assumptions and open questions that make work useful beyond the immediate task. Distinguish personal working notes from shared organisational guidance.
Give shared knowledge an owner and practical review triggers. Help people recognise when earlier conclusions remain useful and when a change deserves attention.
Build the ability to operate and assess the result inside your organisation. Choose where to work independently, share the work or draw on continuing expert support.
Why retained knowledge mattersValue & compensation
A shared goal.
Aligned interests.
Fees combine an agreed base with compensation reflecting the value delivered, tailored to the work and designed to align our interests with yours.
Agree the baseline, useful measures, quality requirements and how results will be assessed. Value-linked compensation depends on meeting those quality requirements. Define how that compensation is calculated, its limits, the treatment of partial achievement and what happens if the scope changes.
Assess value through ordinary work: the effort involved, including review and upkeep; your team’s ability to handle a new task; knowledge successfully reused; and earlier decisions with useful options still open. Recognise the organisation’s own contribution.
The terms are agreed for each engagement, taking account of the professional arrangements applicable to the work.
